The Western Missouri Medical Center Foundation Board purchased a new radio frequency ablation machine for $100,000 to treat patients in the Pain Center, according to a press release.
“Thanks to the generous donation of the WMMC Foundation and our donors, we are able to continue offering advanced services here, such as a radio frequency ablation to help get our patients back to living a life without pain,” said Darinda Reberry, WMMC president and chief executive officer.
The equipment gives WMMC more efficiency, control and reliability when performing radio frequency ablation, a procedure that can provide lasting relief for people with back, neck and joint pain.
This model replaces the outdated model that was being leased and offers the most advanced technology available, according to the release.
“The foundation’s large donation was made possible through the generosity of businesses and individuals,” said Dee Hudson, WMMC Foundation Board president. “This is the first of many great opportunities for the foundation, and it couldn’t have happened without the support from our community,” said Hudson.
