(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) – All around campus there are flyers talking about Earth Week. From April 16 – April 21, the University of Central Missouri is celebrating Earth Week.
There will be special events around campus and movies playing at the Union Cinema to celebrate sustainability.
Events include a panel about living a healthier and more Earth-friendly life at the Union including keynote speaker, Megean Weldon, a fashion show at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center and a clothing swap in the Union Mall.
Weldon has been living sustainably for five years.
Megyn Fletcher delegated the events during this week.
“It is going to be awesome. I am so proud of it. This has interconnected all the departments,” Fletcher said. “Just go and meet new people or just watch in the background. Learn about sustainability– knowledge is power.”
A daily documentary or a movie about sustainability showing follows the theme with what is going on that day. These range from documentaries to Ted Talks to “WALL-E.” The movies will be playing at the Union Cinema.
