Western Missouri Medical Center is providing $50 heart scans Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the month of February, during American Heart Month.
This exam assesses the risk of heart disease and stroke by measuring the amount of calcium in the walls of arteries that supply the heart with blood, according to the WMMC press release.
The procedure is non-invasive and utilizes a computerized tomography scan that takes less than 30 minutes.
WMMC is offering gift certificates for the screenings that can be purchased in the Diagnostic Imaging Department.
You may benefit from this exam if you are a woman over the age of 50; a man over the age of 45; have a family history of heart disease; high blood pressure; are a smoker; at least 20 lbs overweight; or are diabetic, according to the press release.
To schedule an appointment, call 660- 262-7370.
