The Survival Adult Abuse Center’s ninth annual Girl’s Night Out fundraising event will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m, Feb. 22 in the Union Ballroom, with “a little bit country, a little bit rock and roll” theme.
Tickets are $30 each, or $240 for a table of 8. Tables for vendors are $125 for one and $225 for two.
“It’s a night for women to come and enjoy,” said Elaine Sepulveda, Executive Director of the Survival Adult Abuse Center. “It’s just a nice evening for women to get away, have fun and raise money for survival.”
There will be entertainment including a lip-sync competition, silent and live auctions, vendors, a raffle and more. The co-chairpersons are Joy Lakey and Donna Barlett.
All of the proceeds from the event go directly to the needs of the families from Johnson and Henry counties, residing at the Survival House in Warrensburg.
“It’s usually pretty successful, I think we’ve raised anywhere between 20 to 30 thousand dollars at one of our largest fundraisers that we do have,” said Sepulveda. “Basically, it just continues to let us help victims of domestic and sexual violence.”
Tickets can be purchased at survivalgirlsnightout.com, at the Survival Outreach office on 137 E. Culton St., or at the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce on 100 S. Holden St. Tables for vendors can be reserved on the website; checks must be mailed to the outreach office.
The Survival Adult Abuse Center also provides free group therapy every day and is open to the public. Sessions are held at the Outreach Center, at 137 E. Culton St.
On Mondays there’s a parenting group; Tuesday is a self-care group; Wednesday is a sexual assault group; Thursday is a domestic violence group; and Fridays are mens’ group.
