Soccer’s Dilkes and Scott earn MIAA honors
Jada Scott was named Offensive Player of the Week and Ana Dilkes earned Goalkeeper of the Week following the Jennies’ pair of shut-out victories over Missouri Southern and Southwest Baptist.
Jada Scott scored the Jennies’ first goal against Missouri Southern and notched two assists. She also added a goal and an assist against Southwest Baptist. The redshirt junior forward not only had a pair of award-worthy performances, but she also made history in the process. Scott entered the weekend with 91 career points. Her two goals and three assists added an additional seven points to her total, making her the UCM all-time leader in career points. Scott broke the previous record of 96, set by Teleshia Joseph in 2001.
Following Dilkes’ first absence from the MIAA Goalkeeper of the Week award, the senior goalkeeper made her way back into the spotlight this week with a pair of shut-out victories to claim her seventh MIAA award in eight weeks. Dilkes snagged four saves and extended her shut out record to 57. Her 57 career shut outs are the most in MIAA history. She also has the second most in NCAA history, just three shut outs away from breaking the all-time record.
The Jennies wrap up their regular season with a road trip to Lindenwood and Missouri Western this weekend. The team will face the Lions at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27 in St. Charles, Missouri and will take on the Griffons at noon Oct. 29 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Hohlen earns AVCA and MIAA awards, Offerdhal named Specialist of the Week
Kasey Hohlen earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division II Player of the Week along with the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week award. Ally was also recognized this week as the MIAA Specialist of the Week following the Jennies’ victories over Pittsburg State, Central Oklahoma and Lindenwood.
Hohlen totaled 45 kills and averaged a .466 hitting percentage over the course of the three matches. She is just the sixth Jennie in to receive an AVCA weekly award.
Hohlen also reached a milestone last weekend. In the match against Central Oklahoma, the senior middle hitter recorded her 700th career kill.
Ally Offerdahl dished out 117 assists over the Jennies three matches. The freshmen setter also totaled 10 kills and 34 digs over that time span. Offerdahl totaled a career-high 57 assist in the match against Central Oklahoma.
The Jennies next competition will take place against the Northwest Bearcats at 6 p.m. Oct. 27 in Maryville, Missouri. The road trip continues the following day as the Jennies face the Missouri Western Griffons at 6 p.m. Oct. 28 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Bolles captures first MIAA award after totaling 463 yards of offense
Junior quarterback Brook Bolles earned the title of MIAA Offensive Player of the Week after scoring six touchdowns in the Mules 62-42 victory over Washburn.
Bolles completed 23-of-36 passes, totaling 356 yards passing and four touchdowns. He also led the Mules in rushing, gaining 117 yards on the ground with two touchdowns. Bolles leads the MIAA in total passing yards this season and has thrown for at least 300 yards passing in his past five games.
The Mules victory elevated them into the No. 23 in the American Football Coaches Association’s Rankings.  The freshly ranked Mules will look to string together their fourth consecutive victory as they hit the road to take on the Central Oklahoma Bronchos at 2 p.m. Oct. 28 at Wantland Stadium.
