The Warrensburg City Council is scheduled to open two public hearings Monday regarding the annexation of property for the new Dollar Tree distribution center.
The hearing is set for 7 p.m. in the Municipal Center at 200 S. Holden St.
One of the proposed annexation areas, about a quarter of an acre, is located between the old state Route HH right of way and the land owned by the Brady Commerce Park on the west side of state Route 13. The second piece of land, nearly 4 acres, is the right of way for Veterans Road between Enterprise Avenue and the Cayhill subdivision, according to city documents.
The city’s 2017 Comprehensive City Plan describes the future use of the land by Route HH as community commercial and the land by Veterans Road as single-family residential.
The state of Missouri requires a 14-day public comment period after the public hearings are held. So the ordinances will be read for the first time at Monday’s meeting, according to city documents.
The council is scheduled to read the ordinances a second time at the next meeting Monday, Oct. 23.
