(WARRENSBURG, Mo., digitalBURG) — Celebrating the Legacy of Women Across the Globe, a Spotlight event put on to further diversity education, will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, in the Elliott Student Union, room 236.
Brianna Nesbit, Graduate Assistant of Diversity, will facilitate the interactive education program, as students will have the opportunity to discuss and celebrate the various impacts that women have made throughout history, and across the globe.
Discussion will begin with a broad conversation, covering the achievements of famous women, and will end with a more specific and personal sense in small group settings. Participants will be able to share stories about the women they know personally, and how these women have inspired them.
“Normally we discuss larger, broader topics instead of personal, individual experiences, so I’m excited to hear what everyone has to say about those who have inspired them,” Nesbitt said.
Nesbitt said she’s excited because this is the first Women’s History Month event that she has put on, and, as a member of the UCM community, she is proud to take part in it.
