(WARRENSBURG, Mo., digitalBURG) — Spotlight is providing UCM students with the opportunity to watch the antihero movie “Deadpool,” during its Night at the Carmike event.
Spotlight will be partnering with Night Ryder to transport a group of students for an advance showing of the film at 8 p.m. tonight at the Carmike Theater. The cost is $2 per student.
While the Union Cinema in the Elliott Student Union is normally the spot on campus for students to watch movies, Kristin Campbell, a coordinator of Mules After Dark, said the Carmike provides a different experience.
“The main difference between the movies in the Union, those are movies that you had to wait like two to four months to come out,” Campbell said. “The actual official release date for (‘Deadpool’ at) the Carmike here is actually Friday the 12th. But they almost always do an advance showing, so students are getting the chance to see an advance showing of it.”
Individuals interested in attending Night at the Carmike must sign up in advance at the UCM Office of Student Activities in Union 217, before the showing. For more information, contact Kristin Campbell , at 660-543-4293 or [email protected].
