(WARRENSBURG, Mo., digitalBURG) — Nearly 180 organizations will be on the lookout for new hires from almost every major at this year’s Fall Career Expo.
The university hosts career expos twice a year in the Multipurpose Building. This fall’s expo is scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7.
Kathryn Tierney, career development coordinator for Career Services, said the expo is for students to find internships and full-time job opportunities from a selection of business and government organizations.
“The only ones that aren’t included would be education, the school district and the nursing (field),” Tierney said. “But we do have some social work like KBC health care.”
Tierney said she advises students to wear professional attire and bring several copies of their resume, a container for business cards from employers at the expo and a portfolio of their professional or academic work.
Students are required to sign in when they participate in the expo.
Tierney said 177 employers and 1,260 students attended the fall expo last year.
“Definitely attend,” she said. “There are lot of employers for all different majors that will be here.”
A full list of employers registered for the fall career expo is posted on Mules4Hire.
