(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) — The No. 24 ranked Jennies soccer team (8-2-2) knocked off Rockhurst in overtime, 2-1 behind two scores from sophomore forward Julie Ireland on Tuesday night at Jennies Field.
In the 32nd minute of the game, Ireland took a pass from Kayla Hamner and beat the goalkeeper to push the Jennies in front, 1-0.
In the second half, Rockhurst knotted the game at 1-1 when Caroline Brandt found Taylor Skala at the top of the box for the score.
After the two foes went scoreless for the next 40 minutes, entering overtime, Ireland ended the game on a shot from the left side of the goal on a pass from Carly Stanley, her sixth goal on the season.
Goalkeeper Jessica Grindstaff picked up her second victory of the year, improving to 2-1-0.
The Jennies outshot the Hawks, 15-6, which included a 10-2 advantage in the opening half.
