Flags lowered Saturday in honor of local soldier

Gov. Jay Nixon has ordered all U.S. flags and the flag of Missouri to be flown at half-staff at all state and government offices on Saturday from sunrise until sunset in honor of SFC Trenton L. Rhea who died while serving his country in Afghanistan.
Rhea, 33, of Kansas City, Mo., died while serving with the United States Army 603rd Military Police Company, United States Army Reserve, Belton, Mo.
He was a 1998 graduate of Oakley High School and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in history from the University of Central Missouri in 2006. Rhea graduated from UCM in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in history. He had completed nine hours of graduate study at UCM before heading overseas for duty.
