Balty and Brier receive honorable mention, All-Academic

(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) – University of Central Missouri wrestlers Ty Balty and Todd Brier received honorable mention for NCAA-II All-Academic on Monday morning.
Brier, a safety management major at Central Missouri with an overall GPA of 3.63, wrestled at 184 and 197 pounds, compiling a record of 20-19. He placed third in the 197 pound bout at the MIAA Wrestling Tournament and the Missouri Valley Open. Brier led the Mules in victories by fall this season, tallying 11, and was second in reversals with 10.
Balty competed at 125 pounds in several tournaments for the Mules this season. He had 19 takedowns and one fall in 21 matches. Balty is an exercise science major at UCM and has a cummulative GPA of 3.66.
The NCAA-II All-Academic Team was selected by the NCAA-II Wrestling Coaches Association.
