Second annual "Old Drum Day" approaches

(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) – Warrensburg will host its annual “Old Drum Day” festival April 13 at the grounds of the historic Johnson County courthouse.
The 2013 “‘BurgDogs” will be revealed. There will be a live auction of the “foster” dogs as a fundraiser in support of the Old Drum Day festival.
The dog named Doger was cut off his stand and stolen from outside Martin Warren Elementary School. Doger was the work of Bonnie Carlson and nearly every student in the school.
Lisa Irle, curator at the Johnson County Historical Society, called Carlson recently and asked if she would be willing to recreate the dog, if enough money could be donated by the community. Carlson and the student body agreed to the recreation. Donations for a new Doger are being accepted at the Johnson County Historical Society, Attention Foster Dogs, 302 N. Main St., Warrensburg, Mo. 64093.
