MIAA Basketball Tournament tickets go on sale Monday

Tickets for the 2013 MIAA Basketball Championships go on sale Monday, Feb. 11 through the Central Missouri Athletic ticket office. Save $15 by reserving all-session tickets through UCM instead of online or at the event by calling 660-543-4063.
There are two types of ticket packages available at the Central Missouri Athletics ticket office. The all-session ticket, good for all seven sessions and 14 games, is available for $50 per person if purchased at UCM before Thursday, March 7.
Fans buying online or at the event will have to pay $65. Single-session student/youth tickets are also available at UCM and are $5 for students and children aged 7-17. Children six and under get in free. There will be a $3 handling fee added to each order. Single-session adult tickets will only be sold during the tournament at Municipal Auditorium.
Tickets will be on sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the UCM Multipurpose Building ticket office, room 101. Tickets will also be on sale in the ticket office during the remaining Mules and Jennies home games. For more ticket information, call 660-543-4063.
The tournament format has changed with the newly expanded MIAA. The top four teams in the conference standings will receive a bye to Kansas City for the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals beginning on Thursday, March 7. The Nos. 5-12 teams will have a play-in game at campus sites on Monday, March 4 for the men and Tuesday, March 5 for the women, with the winners of those games advancing to Kansas City. The higher-seeded teams will host the play-in games. Tickets for first round play-in games at campus sites are not part of the MIAA all-session ticket and will be available at the host site only.
The men’s quarterfinals will tip-off on Thursday, March 7 at Municipal Auditorium with the women’s action beginning on Friday, March 8. Semifinal round games are slated for Saturday, March 9 with the men playing in the afternoon session starting at noon, and the women taking over for the 6 p.m. session. Championship Sunday, March 10, begins with the men’s game at 1 p.m. Immediately followed by the women’s title tilt.
