Father, 2 sons die while hiking in SE Missouri

(ELLINGTON, Mo., AP) — A father and his two sons from Illinois died while hiking on a trail in southeast Missouri during the weekend.
Reynolds County authorities say 36-year-old David Decareaux and his sons — 10-year-old Dominic and 8-year-old Grant — of Millstadt, Ill., died after becoming lost on the Ozark Trail near Black, Mo.
After an unsuccessful search Saturday night, they were found Sunday morning. David Decareaux was dead at the scene and the two boys died Sunday afternoon at a hospital.
Reynolds County Sheriff Tom Volner says the Decareaux’s wife reported them missing Saturday evening.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/13uvqPW) temperatures were in the 60s when the three started hiking Saturday. But heavy rain started later in the day and temperatures plummeted to the 20s during the night.
