(JONESBORO, Ark.) — The No. 1 ranked Jennies bowling team kicked off 2013 with a runner-up finish at the Arkansas State Mid-Winter Classic over the weekend.
The Jennies opened bracket play on Sunday with a 4-0 win over sixth-ranked Nebraska by scores of 185-162, 224-205, 233-204, 206-173.
In the second round, the Jennies beat Jackson State 4-1 (218-154, 170-207, 198-189, 216-143, 199-187) to advance to the championship.
In the finals, UCM jumped out to a 3-0 lead on Nebraska, but dropped the final four to fall 4-3 and place second.
Freshman Mary Wells was named to the all-tournament team.
