Donna Darlene Werner

Donna Darlene Werner, 58, died Dec. 21 at home in Holden, Mo., after a short battle with brain cancer.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27 at the Holden High School Gymnasium, officiated by Layman Jerry Lockwood. Interment will follow in Elm Spring Cemetery under the direction of Ben Cast & Son – Wood Funeral Home, of Holden. Friends may call 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the gymnasium.
Donna was born in Holden on Oct. 13, 1954 the daughter of Claude Cecil and Minnie Mae (Rowland) Campbell. She was a 1972 graduate of Holden High School. She married Donald Freeman Werner on Feb. 14, 1981 in Elm, Mo. Donna lived in the Holden community most of her life. She was a member and former treasurer of the Enon Baptist Church, worked nine years for Bendix/Allied Signal in Kansas City, and for the past 19 years as a school bus driver for the Holden R-III district. She loved the kids that rode her bus. She loved to be outdoors doing anything on the family farm, and she loved her toy Australian shepherds named Pumpkin and Cocoa.
Donna is survived by her husband, Don Werner, of the home; her son, Derek Werner, of Holden; and her daughter, Dana McElhaney, and husband, Dustin, of Warrensburg, Mo. Her parents, Cecil and Minnie Mae Campbell, preceded her in death.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Twin Lakes Hospice or The American Cancer Society.
