Mary Aletha Shuey, 61, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Friday, April 7, at her home surrounded by her family.
Mary was born July 5, 1955, in Columbia, Missouri, the daughter of Samuel “Junior” Barton and Wilma Mary (Cox) Barton. She was employed with Unitog in Warrensburg for over 20 years. Following the closing of the plant, she was involved in home health care. Mary loved crocheting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed fishing and cross-stitch.
Survivors include two daughters, Shelly Bowman and significant other, Mike McCraine, of Warrensburg; and Melissa Truex and husband, Jeff, of Columbia; two sons, Russell Shuey and significant other, Sabrina Shelton, of Warrensburg; and Thomas Shuey and wife, Sarah, of Sweet Springs, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Anthony Duddridge; Brian Bentley and wife, Asenath Rose; Kinsley Aletha Truex; Paisley Susan Truex; Damein Shuey; Kelsea Shuey; Katelynn Shuey; and Matthew Reffitt Jr.; great-grandchild, Spencer Bentley; and seven siblings, Eugene Barton, of West Plains, Missouri; Lee Barton, of Pueblo, Colorado; Robert Barton, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Dorothy Whitsett, of St. Petersburg, Florida; Lalah Gregory, of Willow Springs, Missouri; Richard Barton, of Georgia; and Bert Levesque, of Southwest Harbor, Maine. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Paul Barton.
Private services will be scheduled at a later date.
