(SEDALIA, Mo.)—Saturday was day three of the Missouri State Fair and included events such as the Sweeney Family Band Country Comedy Review, a hog show and the Hedrick’s Racing Pig Show.
The theme of this year’s fair is “Celebrate Then and Wow.” The fair will continue through Sunday, Aug. 19.

Crowds formed early Saturday as fair goers filled the grounds by noon for food and entertainment to be found throughout most of the fairgrounds. Temperatures reached upper 80s in Sedalia Saturday.

The Sweeney Family Band Country Comedy Review entertains fair goers daily with several shows a day of fast bluegrass and witty banter at Ditzfield Stage.

Officer Pace of the Missouri Highway Patrol works alongside Otto the talking car to educate families on highway safety.

The Missouri Beef House is one of the more popular restaurants at the fair with its select meals of Missouri-raised beef.

Jeffrey Bodine and Ellie Mae (Hallie Hedrick) of Nickerson, Kan., run Hedrick’s Racing Pig Show daily, several times a day. The races are one of the more popular shows at the fair and draw hundreds of spectators daily.
