Ferguson names 3 finalists for city manager post

(FERGUSON, Mo., AP) — The St. Louis suburb where last year’s police shooting death of Michael Brown launched the “Black Lives Matter” movement has narrowed its search for a city manager to three finalists.
Those candidates for the Ferguson job include Riverdale Park, Maryland, town administrator Sara Imhulse; Peoria, Illinois, public works director Michael Rogers; and Richton Park, Illinois, village manager De’Carlon Seewood.
Seewood was Ferguson’s assistant city manager from 2001 through 2007. He also was Ferguson’s interim finance director, interim director of planning and development, and interim neighborhood improvement manger.
Ferguson’s longtime city manager, John Shaw, resigned in March after a Justice Department report called into question the treatment of minorities by the suburb’s police department and municipal court.
Ferguson’s interim city manager, Ed Beasley, declined to be considered for the permanent job.
