Mules basketball releases 2015-16 schedule

(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) — The Central Missouri Mules basketball team recently released its schedule for the 2015-16 season, which includes 28 games and a 22-game conference slate. The Mules will play 16 of those games at home.
Head coach Doug Karleskint‘s squad will open the season on Friday, Nov. 13, at home against in-region foe Minnesota-Duluth. The next night UCM will host another Central region foe in Concordia-St. Paul. UCM opens the season with three straight home games before the first road test of the year at Missouri S&T on Saturday, Nov. 21, in Rolla.
The Mules will wrap up the non-conference portion of the schedule hosting a pair of games on Thanksgiving weekend against Southeastern Oklahoma State (Nov. 27) and MidAmerica Nazarene (Nov. 28).
The MIAA portion of the schedule gets underway on Wednesday, Dec. 2, when Missouri Western comes to the Multipurpose Building. The only regular season matchup with defending conference champion Northwest Missouri will take place on Dec. 5 in Warrensburg. The first road MIAA game of the season is Saturday, Dec. 12, at Emporia State.
The Mules close out 2015 with a pair of home conference games on Dec. 17 and 19 against Fort Hays State and Nebraska-Kearney, respectively. UCM opens 2016 at home on Jan. 4 against Southwest Baptist. The second half of the year sees the Mules play seven home games and 10 road games, including a four-game road trip to start the month of February and road games at Lindenwood and Missouri Western to close out the regular season.
The MIAA Tournament begins Tuesday, March 1, with tournament play-in games on campus sites while the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals will once again take place at historic Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City March 4-6.
