Warrensburg man dies after being struck by train

(WARRENSBURG, Mo., digitalBURG) — A Warrensburg man was hit and killed by a train early Saturday morning in downtown Warrensburg.
David J. Lindequist, 22, was struck by a train at approximately 2 a.m. some 412 feet east of the Washington Street railroad crossing, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. The train was driven by Alan R. Barnett, 59, of Chamois, Missouri.
Lindequist was pronounced dead at the scene by Johnson County Coroner C. L. Holdren at 2:38 a.m. Lindequist was transported to Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home.
Troopers indicated there were no damages to the engine and it was released to the engineer.
