City hires new manager from Knoxville, Iowa

(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) – The city has a new manager.
The City Council hired Harold Stewart II, of Knoxville, Iowa, as the new city manager. Stewart replaces Paula Hertwig Hopkins who resigned in February to serve in an administrative mission in Uganda. She served as the city manager for three years.
Stewart was selected following a national search, according to a news release. He was previously city manager in Knoxville, Iowa, for the past four years. Prior to that, he was city manager for three years in Ogallala, Nebraska.
He will begin work in Warrensburg on Aug. 31.
