Mules golf tied for fourth after opening round of NCAA Championships

(CONOVER, N.C.) — The ninth-ranked Mules Golf team fired an opening round 287 on Monday and sits in a tie for fourth place at three-over par at the NCAA Championships at Rock Barn Golf & Spa. Nova Southeastern shot an opening round 279 and holds down the top spot in the team standings.
The Mules were as high as second in the first round and as low as eighth before finishing tied for fourth. They are tied with Central Oklahoma and sit three shots back of third place South Carolina-Aiken and four shots back of second place Lynn.
Individually, Sam Migdal shot an opening round 66 and is the individual leader at five-under par. Alex Springer is one-under par after an opening round 70 and sits in a tie for sixth place. Cy Moritz is tied for 49th after an opening round three-over par 74. Travis Mays shot a 77 and is tied for 75th, while Teddy Jones fired an 81 and is tied for 99th place.
The Mules will begin their second round on the back nine on Tuesday beginning at 12:55 p.m.
The top eight teams after Wednesday’s third and final round will qualify for the match play portion of the championships on Thursday.
