Ray Scaggs

Ray Scaggs, 82, of Golden Age Nursing Home, Stover, Missouri, formerly of Knob Noster, Missouri, died Thursday, March 12.  He is now safe in the arms of his beloved Lord Jesus, his wife, Carolee Scaggs (Pressly) and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m Tuesday, March 17, at Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, Missouri, with the Reverend Ray Layne officiating, and visitation services beginning at 1 p.m.
Interment will follow at Knob Noster Cemetery with full military honors provided.
He was one of twelve siblings; born in Ferguson, West Virginia, the son of Anthony Wilson Scaggs and Laura Marie Smith on Aug. 18, 1932.
His commitment and love were evident in his devotion to family, nation and work.
He is survived by five children: Ray Layne (Rosie) of Stover, Missouri; Carol Edlin (David) of Grayson, Kentucky; Max Layne (Jennifer) of Milton, West Virginia; Michelle Orr of Huntington, West Virginia; and Shelley Turmail (Scott) of Bluffton, Indiana; six step-children: Debbie Horn of Proctorville, Ohio; Harley Law (Monica), La Monte, Missouri, Connie Nieman (Ron) of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Perry Law of Washington; Wes Law (Cindy) of Lebanon, Missouri; and Grace Williams (Brian), Chillicothe, Iowa; 25 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.  He was a foster parent to 23 children for the State of Missouri.
His military service included two different tours of duty in the U.S. Army; serving both in England and Germany from 1952-1957.
