Geraldine Lane

Geraldine Lane, 98, of Independence, Missouri, died Friday, Feb. 13, at Maywood Terrace Living Center in Independence.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at Knob Noster Cemetery with Pastor Tim Whitmore officiating.
She was born Aug. 28, 1916, in Knob Noster, Missouri, the daughter of William Fredrick and Fannie Bird (Kelly) Neitzert.
She was united in marriage to Deo Leslie Lane on Nov. 14, 1936, in La Monte, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 20, 2007.
Geraldine was a graduate of Knob Noster High School, class of 1934.  She enjoyed going to car races, playing cards and was a member of the Pitch Club, as well as taking Sunday drives in the rural countryside. Geraldine was a member of the Knob Noster Saddle and Bridle Club, and was a member of Knob Noster Presbyterian Church.
Geraldine is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ron Lane; one brother, Kelly Neitzert; one sister, Margaret Gregory; and one sister in infancy.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Knob Noster VFW Post 4195 and can be left in care of Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, Missouri.
