Jennies fall 1-0 to Truman Sunday in Kirksville

(KIRKSVILLE, Mo.)Jennies soccer (7-1-2) suffered its first loss of the season Sunday afternoon in Kirksville, falling 1-0 to Truman State (8-2-0).
The match did not count towards either team’s MIAA standings position.
The only goal of the match came seven minutes into the first period when Truman’s Kelsey Twellman broke away from the Jennies defense and took control of the ball at midfield. She dribbled to ball untouched and scored to give the Bulldogs the 1-0 lead and eventual victory.
The loss to Truman snapped the Jennies six-match winning streak over the Bulldogs, which dated back to the 2009 season.
The Jennies were outshot in the match 12-11 and 5-4 in shots-on-goal.
Jennies soccer is back in action Friday night when they travel to Joplin for a 7 p.m. MIAA match against Missouri Southern.
