Gladys Elizabeth Wright, 95, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Friday, Jan. 30, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg with Pastor Sid Tiller and the Rev. Ray Haught officiating. Pallbearers will be Randy Sproat, Rusty Sproat, Ronny Sproat, Ethan Sproat, Bryar Sproat, Dane Sproat and T.J. Cardwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Christy Cardwell, Kim Sproat, Trish Sproat, Tara Sproat, Samantha, Emmaline and Hailey.
Interment will follow at Adams Cemetery southeast of Warrensburg.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born June 9, 1919, in Latham, Missouri, the daughter of James Arthur and Lelia Olive (Miller) Wilson.
She was united in marriage to Lyle Linton Wright on June 9, 1937, in Boonville, Missouri. He preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1979.
Gladys worked as a store manager for Montgomery Ward in Washington, Missouri, for several years until her retirement. She was a member of Northside Christian Church in Warrensburg and the First Baptist Church Golden Agers, a member and past matron of the Eastern Star and a mother advisor of the Rainbow Girls in Washington, Missouri.
Gladys is survived by her daughter, Carol Sproat and husband, Keith, of Warrensburg; four grandchildren, Randy Sproat and wife, Trish, of Lebanon, Missouri; Rusty Sproat and wife, Kim; Ronny Sproat and wife, Tara; and Christy Cardwell, all of Warrensburg; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Charles Francis Wilson.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Crossroads Hospice or Show Me Christian Youth Home and both can be left in care of the funeral home.
