Virginia Yinger

Virginia Yinger, 98, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Saturday, Aug. 30, at the Warrensburg Manor Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Home in Warrensburg with the Rev. Heather Jepsen officiating.
Interment will follow at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was born Sept. 7, 1915, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the daughter of Howard and Leota (Utterbach) Long.
She was united in marriage to Harold Yinger on April 10, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 2000.
Virginia was a graduate of Terra Haute School in Terra Haute. She then worked as a long distance operator at Indiana Bell Company. Virginia later worked as a clerk typist for the U.S. Army Air Corps at Kearns Army Air Base in Utah. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Warrensburg; a former Cub Scout leader; a former member of the ABC Club in Warrensburg and a former member of the Faculty Wives at Central Missouri State University. Virginia loved raising flowers and gardening.
Virginia is survived by one son, Andrew “Andy” Yinger of Warrensburg; and one sister, Kathleen Robertson of Dana Point, California.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Wayne, Marvin, Howard, Dick and Elmus Long.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association and can be left in care of the funeral home.
