Care Connection seeks Silver Haired Legislature representative

(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) – Care Connection for Aging Services is seeking a candidate for the Silver Haired Legislature to represent Johnson County and to set priorities for senior issues in Missouri.
The 15-member Silver Haired Legislature delegation will join 150 seniors from throughout the state in Jefferson City in October to determine priorities that the group wants to promote in the 2015 Missouri legislative session.
SHL members from the 13-county area served by Care Connection will meet June 9 in Warrensburg to discuss proposals to present to the larger group in October.
The SHL terms are for two years. To qualify, candidates must be at least 60, live in Johnson County, and agree to participate throughout the year. The SHL members also agree to report the priorities to their constituents in their home counties and to testify at state legislative hearings if they are called upon.
Those who are interested can contact Vickie Whitsitt, director of the SHL for Care Connection, at 800-748-7826 or by email at [email protected].
