Thomas Ray Lysinger I, 60, died Monday, Dec. 16.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21 at Ben Cast & Son – Wood Funeral Home in Holden, Mo. Friends may call 9:30–11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lowry City Cemetery in Lowry City.
Tom was born on Sept. 24, 1953, and raised on the family farm in Lowry City, Mo. He was the fourth child of five born to John F. Lysinger Sr. and Betty Genevieve Lysinger.
Tom graduated from the Lowry City School District.
Tom and his wife, Cindy, were united in marriage on June 12, 1976. They had three children, Thomas Ray Lysinger II, Joseph Ray Lysinger and Kristi Lynn Lysinger-Miller.
Tom was a farmer by trade and also worked 12 years at Smoot Grain Co. (ADM) in Clinton, Mo. He hauled and worked cattle, built fence, baled hay and any other job that came his way to provide for his family. He was an active member and past president of the Missouri Haflinger and Draft Pony Association an honorary state farmer of the Missouri State FFA organization.
He had a passion for raising and showing Haflingers and mules. Tom loved taking Joey and Kristi to the fairs and showing their stock. After the third generation came along, he really “busted at the seams” watching Jordan, Emma and Abby take a hold of the family tradition.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Thomas Ray Lysinger II; uncle James G. Lysinger; brother-in-law, Bob Kinney; father and mother-in-law, Linn and Ora Mae Wheeler.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Lysinger, of the home; son, Joey Lysinger; grandson, Jordan Lysinger; Doug, Gracie and Ben Evans of Holden; daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and Matthew Miller; and granddaughters, Emma and Abby Miller of Kingsville; brother and family, Junior and Linda Lysinger, Julie (Lysinger), Josh, Mackenzie and Miles Russell, Janet (Lysinger), Bill, Kailee and Blake Green, Jill (Lysinger), Jared, Mikah, Rhett and Sawyer Wareham; brother and family, Bill and Malinda Lysinger, James, Jimmy and Jena Lysinger, Jacqueline (Lysinger), Scott, Annabell and Jackson Alexander; sister and family, Betty (Lysinger) Kinney, Jeremy, Janel, Colten, Dalton and Liberty Hildebrand and Nancy (Hildebrand) and Adam Horton;  brother and family, George, Linda, Johnny, Geoffry and Andrew Lysinger; brother-in-law and family, Mike and Debbie Wheeler and Tony, Shawna and Mia Biaji.
