Warrensburg prepares for BurgFest activities

(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) – Warrensburg Main Street, Inc. and Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Johnson County have partnered to bring Burg Fest to Warrensburg. Festivities will commence on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013 and continue through the weekend, concluding on Sunday, Sept. 29.
The weekend will be loaded with activities for the entire family.  It all starts Friday Sept. 27 at 5:00pm and will continue until Sunday Sept. 29 at 5:00pm. The festival will feature a classic car show and shine, Elks BBQ cook-off, Home Brew Competition, Warrensburg Fire Department Burn House, High Heel Race, Cupcake Walk, pony rides, children’s activities, a variety of bounce houses, inflatables, childrens pay & play area, live performances, street entertainment, local bands, food vendors, craft vendors, a beer garden and much more.
Performances throughout the weekend will include the University of Central Missouri Step Dancers, Legacy Gymnastics and Cheer, Central Missouri Twisters, Center Stage, Incendio Fire Performers, Rockn’ Rob and the Warrensburg High School Show Choir. Linda Bales and Scott McBride will be performing Saturday evening on the main stage as well as Luehrman, Shaffer and Check.
The live music will continue on the main stage into the evening with performances by The Nace Brothers, Chance the Arm, The Norman Jackson Band, Travis Gibson Band, Random Access and Cowboy Bart’s Imaginary Band.
The fall festival will come to an end with a Sunday celebration filled with gospel and praise music. This will be a family- friendly event that will provide entertainment for the whole family and all ages. The Sunday celebration line- up includes music from Life Nazarene, Harvest Fellowship, First Baptist, First United Methodist, Grover Park Baptist, Shiloh Baptist, Northside Christian Church, Emily Russell and others.
