Mules cross country ranked third in Central Regional poll

(NEW ORLEANS) — The Central Missouri Mules cross country has moved up five spots in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Central Region rankings at No. 3 this week after being ranked eighth in the preseason poll, according to a press release.
The Mules have won team championships at both the SBU Twilight Meet and the Central Missouri Mule Run in their first two competitions of the season. Other MIAA schools in the top 10 in the regional poll include Missouri Southern at No. 2, Southwest Baptist at No. 4 and Fort Hays State at No. 5. Nebraska-Kearney, Northwest Missouri and Pittsburg State are ranked Nos. 8, 9 and 10, respectively.
The Jennies cross country team dropped out of the regional poll after being ranked No. 10 in the preseason poll.
The Mules and Jennies are both off this weekend. They will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Roy Griak Minnesota Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn.
