Busy week ahead for UCM sports

(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) — The Central Missouri Mules football squad returns home to host Lindenwood as part of the Family Weekend activities on Saturday afternoon at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field. The 1:30 p.m. kickoff highlights a busy week of home events for UCM athletics.

The No. 6 Jennies Volleyball team gets the action underway on Tuesday night as they host Missouri Southern at 7 p.m. at the UCM Multipurpose Building. The Jennies are 9-0 after two weeks of the season and have only dropped one set thus far. The Jennies will also host Southwest Baptist on Friday night at 7 p.m. in the Multi.

The 24th-ranked Jennies Soccer team welcomes Fort Hays State to the South Recreation Complex for an MIAA matchup on Thursday night at 7 p.m. The Jennies wrap up their four-game homestand on Saturday night at 5 p.m. hosting Nebraska-Kearney at Jennies Field.

The Mules football team will host Lindenwood for the first time ever on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The two teams have played twice since Lindenwood joined NCAA Division II, but both meetings have come in St. Charles.

Mule Train donors are invited to the pre-game tailgate beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the Mule Train tailgate area located just west of Walton Stadium with food and beverage provided by Country Kitchen, according to a press release. Guests that are interested in joining the Mule Train may accompany members at a cost of $10 for adults and $5 for children. Non-Mule Train members wishing to tailgate may park in the “Mule Stable” lots north of the UCM Physical Plant. Responsible tailgating for those 21 and over begins in designated lots at 10:30 a.m. and concludes at the end of halftime. Fans are encouraged to go to UCMathletics.com to check out the tailgating map, which outlines the designated tailgate lots.

Fans are invited to greet the Mules football squad as they make their way to the field with the “Mule Walk” 15 minutes prior to the game. The team will walk south from the locker room down Washington Street behind Walton Stadium and into the South entrance of the stadium.

1450 KOKO, 98.5 The Bar and www.warrensburgradio.com will begin broadcast coverage on the UCM Sports Network at 12:10 p.m. with the Mules Tailgate Show. Shawn Jones, UCM Hall of Famer Bill Turnage and Greg Hassler will provide all the play by play action. A pay-per-view student-run webcast will also be available from the UCM Media Network. Fans can access the webcast at AmericaOneSports.com or by clicking on the “Live Video” link on the UCM athletics website, UCMathletics.com.
